A careful study of religious norms and falling into traps in certain areas can lead to the idea that God has a problem with sexuality. Perhaps no other area of human life has Scripture devoted so much attention as sexual relations and the rules by which they should occur.
Sexual Theology
The term “sexual theology” was coined by James Nelson in his book “Incarnation: An Approach to Sexuality and Christian Theology.” (1979). The introduction of this term was motivated by an attempt to connect Christians, who feared eroticism and sex, with a modern culture open to sexual pleasure and experimentation.
What does the theology of sex do? It studies a wide range of issues, from philosophy to very practical matters. For example, the acceptability and desirability of certain sexual practices are discussed, as well as questions about why God created sex and orgasm.
Every religion has its own sexual theologians, but no serious studies or research have been conducted on this issue. However, the interpretation of sacred texts and their interpretation can determine permitted and prohibited actions.
It is worth noting that almost all world religions are virtually identical in their lists of prohibitions: sex outside the bark, sex during menstruation, sex during fasting and major religious holidays, homosexuality. There are many nuances, but the essence is the same. From a religious perspective, sex is not a simple activity that can be
Prohibitions and Permissions: What is Needed for God-Pleasing Sex
For quite a long time, Christianity was the most an asexual religion, arguing that sex is a concession to human sinful nature. It”s a sin, and therefore nothing to be proud of or happy about. Such sentiments were particularly strong in the Middle Ages.
And anything beyond the missionary position, with its expression of grief and suffering, was strictly prohibited. Anal sex, oral sex, poses in street clothes — dudes and riders — all this was strictly prohibited. And no woman should experience orgasm, as this is a clear manifestation of pleasure from this sinful act. Only in a missionary capacity and only for reproduction.

Judaism and Islam are more correct in this regard and do not consider sexual relations between husband and wife to be sinful. However, certain rules must be followed.
For example, in Judaism, sex is always preceded by a special ritual. This is the immersion of a woman in a mikveh. During menstruation and for several days after it, couples do not have sex, but after the end of menstruation, the woman performs a ritual ablution, after which the ban on sex is lifted. This ritual has no more hygienic meaning than a symbolic one. After such immersion, the woman appears rehabilitated before her husband, and the man needs novelty to maintain passion.
When it comes to attitudes towards female orgasm, Judaism is called the most advanced religion. Bringing a woman to orgasm is the husband”s responsibility. If he is unable or unwilling to do so, his wife can and will fairly agree to a divorce on these grounds.

There are four strict prohibitions against marital sexual relations in Islam. Sex during menstruation, sex after childbirth, delegation of pilgrimage and purity rituals of anal sex. All other issues — time, place and position — remain at the discretion of the couple. Even during fasting, sex is prohibited during the day, but at night (from the beginning of solarium until dawn) the ban is lifted.
“God Will Punish”: For Whom Sex and Religion Are Incompatible?
In the book “The Role of the Image of God in the Emergence of Church-Induced Neurosis,” Andrze Moreland (Institute of Religion and Religious Studies, Krakow, Poland), a psychologist at the Department of Psychology and Religion and Society, is convinced that a person can be “dependent on God.” This happens when a believer constantly feels guilty. This is formed through the image of a punishing God.
This image is imperceptibly woven into the personality structure and affects many areas of human life, including the sexual sphere. Neurotic individuals find it difficult to resist such pressure. Therefore, for them, faith can become a real obstacle on the path to healthy sexuality.

Evangelical neurosis is directly related to sexuality. At risk are adherents of religious teachings who perceive sexuality from a negative point of view. This position can lead to various deviations that make sexual contact completely impossible physically and mentally. Therefore, the more positive the attitude towards sex in a religious environment, the happier and healthier the believer.
