Intimate relationships are called intimate precisely because they involve two people. But in the age of the Internet and other attractive aspects of life, people begin to share their deepest secrets. And sometimes some stories are so different from the experiences of others that they raise many questions. One is what is the “correct” or “normal” number of sexual encounters over a given period of time?

To avoid relying on widely disparate and contradictory medical indicators, Tim Wesworth decided to conduct a global study of a wide range of indicators among people aged 18 years and over.

It turned out that 40% of regular couples prefer to have sex one to three times a week. This schedule was interrupted. About a quarter of respondents said they have sex once every two to three weeks. Once a year – less than 10%. And more than 5% said that sex happens more than four times a week in their lives. Despite the fact that the rest (less than 20%) could not remember an incident of intimate sex over the past year.

Interestingly, at the same time, those (both men and women) who did not reject intimate intimacy once a week rated themselves as the most “happy.” And those who “went on a sex record” or forgot about the presence of their lover next to the bed felt less happy. Amy Muse, who initiated this personal assessment, attributes this to both the degree of trust, as well as warm relationships and personal experience.

the first sex shops appeared in the last century in 1962. And although the Germans were the most enterprising, this does not mean that sex toys did not exist before them.

It is clear that everything depends on the person himself or his partner. We found a scientific explanation for this! But it is well known that to be happy you need to have sex every week. The main thing is that Amy, unlike Tim, did not indicate a permanent partner.

Orgasm and sex

However, the main mystery of the researcher remained the female orgasm. Indeed, only heterosexual representatives of the fair sex. Consequently, heterosexual men (at least 95%) said they had an orgasm this month, and 85% believed their partners had.

However, the partners were not so sure about this. No, they also decided 95% of the time that their men were at the peak of bliss. But only 63% can say this to themselves! As for lesbians and gays, their index unanimously reached almost 90%.

It was also found that heterosexual women are more likely to feign satisfaction so as not to offend their partners, and are embarrassed to ask men what they want.

Interestingly, this is included in Muse’s previously reviewed article on happiness. For example, once a week I had sex, faked an orgasm, and am I happy that the man didn’t notice anything? No, there are definitely no obvious Russian scientists in this field. They didn’t ask anything, but thought about it themselves. And people came up with fairy tales and horror stories; all researchers build theories. You would install RAS. However, this is a topic for another conversation.
