Scientists from the University of Florida launched an unusual study spanning many countries around the world. The study was open to married couples, specifically women in long-term, stable relationships. They were asked just two questions: which couple they considered more beautiful (themselves or their husbands) and to what extent they considered their relationship stable and happy because of this.

The results were surprising. The less objectively attractive their lovers considered the woman, the happier and warmer their relationship seemed to them.
