Like all island nations, Japan is characterized by a commitment to tradition and a kind of culture that, from the outside, seems almost unreal. However, after World War II, other civilizations nevertheless made a hole in the barrier of cultural values.

But even before this, the Land of the Rising Sun was conquered by such non-traditional art forms as anime (animation) and manga (comics). They have adapted very well to the culture of the modern world and influenced it.
Before animation, manga was the default genre for children. However, Japanese anime is manga for adults. This does not mean that all works can be safely marked as 18+, but there can be erotica (and even pornography) in anime. Unlike children”s cartoons or the topic of death, it is not taboo.
The Japanese remained true to themselves. Borrowing something from other cultures, they retain similarities with the source, but rework the philosophy and essence “to suit themselves” and are completely subordinate to Japanese ideas about art and life in general. The younger the target audience, the more chaste the bishōjo costume should be. However, as the censorship bar rises to 18 and above, the dress becomes shorter and the neckline deeper. However, there are also differences, depending on whether cartoons and comics were created for a male or female audience.
For the ETTI genre, which refers to erotic arts, translucent dresses are suitable. Here, Bishoujo is not involved in an explicit scene, but there are hints of a relationship. In hentai, everything is possible, as it should be in pornography.
It”s not what you think
Very often, SO-Caled Harem anime and manga feature Biselojo characters. But don”t let the term “harem” fool you. There is no sex! Only romance, heroism, a lot of positive actions and a long path of self-improvement (again, for the Japanese).
Halm Shunen is a metazan anime intended for representatives of the stronger half of humanity aged 12-18 years. And in it, the main character — who is engaged in self-improvement — is surrounded mainly by beautiful girls, very similar to Bisergo.
They are his battle friends, assistants and advisers, but he gives his heart to only one of them. This is the idea of the Japanese harem.
