The study, conducted by Poles, involved 2, 369 women and 215 men. The theme of the fairer sex was demonstrated by photographs of men with and without tattoos. The girls were then asked to rate their own qualities, such as attractiveness, masculinity, dominance and aggression. Women had to answer questions about whether a particular man was a reliable marriage partner, a good father, and how healthy he was.
The results showed that women rated men who were perceived as healthy, attractive and dominant more highly than men without tattoos.
