- 25% — no grooming at all;
- 75% — trim, shave, etc.
In other words, the number of women seeking to improve the appearance of their pubic bone and “peripheral area” increased by 9% over a six-year period.
At the same time, the desire to take care of one”s pubic hair has nothing to do with income or family status. However, as education levels increase, changes can be observed. With age, the proportion of women grooming their pubic hair decreases.
Most women regularly shave their armpits and legs and pluck their eyebrows. Researchers believe that grooming pubic hair is a continuation of a general trend. However, when it comes to pubic hair trimming, it is also common among some men.

For centuries, European and Asian artists depicted women without self-consciousness or hair. Art historians continue to debate the reasons for this. Some historians argue that this was how women of the past combated the ubiquitous lice.
Others are convinced that women were unconcerned about their shame, and in paintings we see only alterations made by artists for aesthetic reasons.
