This seems amazing. And why is the current generation drawn to such a unique pastime on the streets of sprawling, free cities? Today, together with De Corte Nickname, co-owner of the blog Naked Wanderings, and other representatives of the naturist movement, we take stock of its history and consider its current state in society.

“You won”t know how you feel until you try to join the nativist movement without fear or embarrassment,” says de Corte. Over the past few years, naturalism has undergone seismic changes. Such events appear both in cultures where there is no real narrative (for example, South America and Asia) and in cities that, in principle, traditionally seem unprecedented.
“The acceptance of the nativist movement is mainly associated with local cultures,” explains de Corte. “Of course, this movement is new to every corner of the world, but it is something that it can bring to the attention of the youth of modern society, and which cannot connect us with movements related to environmental protection. It seems like we should feel shy and awkward. But most people are still with us, so why should we worry about them?”
Indeed, the involvement of young people in nativist movements is decisive for their survival. For example, in Germany the official number of ND members has doubled over the past 40 years. This is due to the fact that they began to be considered old and too regular (“it’s a burn”).
Similarly, Nicky Hoffman, a member of the Non-Tourist Society Foundation in the United States, notes how the older generation of nativist movements inevitably dies. This makes it difficult to attract young people into key roles — they want to experience the appeal of new responsibilities, but there is no compulsory organization.”
And despite the above frightening statistics, ND is only growing every year. As de Corte personally saw, today anyone can find resorts of naturalistic principles on six continents. Twenty years ago this type of event was very private, but now “naked public events” are at the peak of their power and implementation. The same global bike ride covered 70 cities in 20 countries (a kind of protest against car culture and climate disasters, but, of course, naked defense).

“But for many, the naturalistic movement is a philosophy of life that they want to embrace on a larger scale. We”re talking about promoting the idea that the naturalistic movement is actually quite easy to do and maintain. It”s not dangerous. It”s not embarrassing. It”s not shameful. The only problem is that it lies with people who are unreasonably aware that it causes anxiety. They make assumptions, feel embarrassed and depressed. It”s like if a person walked around barefoot, others would start to assume that homeless. In fact, he wanted to get closer to nature, he just thought it would be nice to get in touch with the earth for a short time. I think the guilt in this case should be taken into account at the last stage.”
The naturalistic movement is not for everyone. It”s no surprise that the idea of ”walking around naked” in front of a friend or stranger is a nightmare come true for some people. Nudity in general is one of the most commonly reported startling dreams, and psychologists interpret it as something shameful, a reaction to feelings of guilt, an unconscious inferiority complex and a great desire to feel previously out of the spotlight.
In other words, they cannot accurately substantiate the reasons for this fear, but continue to call it “natural fear,” which is not a correct solution. Finally, while clothing can be characterized by a myriad of external qualities (e. g., protection, identity, individuality, display), nudity is seen as a norm of the distant past, and for many cultures, nudity or partial nudity is still the norm.

It is undeniable that parents instruct their children to “hide” from a very early age, as soon as they begin to show the physical signs of adolescence. They convey negative assumptions associated with nudity and perceived danger or antisocial character. This, of course, only worsens the position of the nativist movement and its offshoots in the modern world.
Bouquet de Vries, a political philosopher at Umeå University and author of The Right to Be Publicly Naked: A Defense of the Naturalist Movement, argues that nudity has become a social taboo, he says. Nakedness has been especially emphasized in faith since Adam and Eve were disgraced by their expulsion from the Garden of Eden.
In his opinion, the state should recognize the right to public disclosure as a separate right and not seek to protect it within the framework of existing rights. The well-being it creates must be recognized and recognized as part of a person”s freedom of expression. He openly states that the nativist movement is not harmful because some of the bodies involved in ND are completely obscene. In addition, naturalistic exercises do not pose any health risks. The facts simply do not suggest that.
