American Views on Sexual Morality Have Changed Significantly

According to a 2018 survey on morality, American views on sexual morality continue to become more liberal. The most notable change is that more Americans than ever believe that homosexuality, sex between unmarried adults, divorce, and unmarried childbearing are morally acceptable. However, despite significant shifts in these attitudes, American attitudes toward other sex-related issues, particularly abortion, have remained virtually unchanged.

The most significant change is that most Americans consider sexual relations between gays and lesbians morally acceptable. Public opinion on this issue has shifted significantly since 2001.
