Condoms have never been approved for anal sex
When used correctly, condoms are an effective way to prevent unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. However, this method has many disadvantages. Many men (and some women) complain that condoms are insensitive, uncomfortable to wear, smell or taste bad, feel tight, and are not environmentally friendly.
It”s no wonder that, according to statistics, only 5% of men worldwide have sex with a condom. According to the US National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior, only 20% of those who practice anal sex use them.
The technology for making latex condoms was invented in the 1920s. Currently, large companies such as Trojan, Durex, LifeStyles/Ansell and Okatomo are doing this. Regulators are hostile to any technology that competes with latex. The FDA, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the U. S. health care industry have promoted latex condoms as the gold standard for preventing sexually transmitted diseases and unintended pregnancies for more than 30 years. In many cases, there is a lack of reliable data to demonstrate the safety of alternative production technologies.

It may shock you to know that there is not enough reliable data on the well-known latex condoms! Although the FDA defines them as medical devices, there is little research to support their effectiveness. This is especially true for high-risk groups — homosexual men. Ironically, they market “very safe condoms for anal sex” but the FDA has never approved them for this purpose. Tests and studies were carried out using vaginal administration only. However, the risk of HIV transmission within the gay male community has led to widespread condom use.
