How much does the average male penis grow when erect?

I”ve found that men (and researchers) are interested not only in penis size, but also in how much it grows when erect. Some men”s penises seem to “grow” more than others.

What are the typical changes in the length of the penis from flaccid to erect? A recent study published in the International Journal of Impotence Research provides interesting data in this regard.

The University of Zurich decided to conduct an excellent study. He gathered under one roof all the representatives of the fairer sex aged from 16 to 45 years with one.

In this study, 274 men had their penises clinically measured at two different time points: once at rest and once at maximum erection after injection of a vasodilator (i. e., a substance that chemically causes an erection). Please note that all men in the study were clinically assessed for erectile dysfunction. Therefore, vasodilators were prescribed.

This resulted in an average penis length of 4 centimeters (about 1. 6 inches). The researchers identified two categories of men: those whose increase was less than 4 cm.

There were significantly more men with an increase of up to 4 cm (74%). In this group, most “increases” were less than 3. 1 cm (1. 2 in). Therefore, if the enlargement of the organ is not so noticeable in an upright position, there is no need to worry.

However, fewer men (26%) experienced an average increase in penis size of 5. 3 cm (2. 1 inches). Interestingly, however, there was a trend toward larger sizes in younger subjects. Therefore, we should not be surprised by new research in this area.
