In my last article, I went into detail about the myths associated with homosexuality. However, it is unfairly ignored by other, more common mistakes.

1) Lesbians have sex much less often than everyone else. Research has shown that lesbian couples tend to have less sex than other types of couples. However, when lesbians have sex, they spend more time with each other than with anyone else. Moreover, studies have shown that lesbian couples are just as sexually satisfied as other couples.

2) Bisexuality means that you are equally attracted to both men and women. Bisexuality means that you are attracted to both men and women, but that attraction to each gender does not have to be equally strong. For example, research has shown that some bisexual people may experience equally high levels of desire and only some short-term episodes. However, equality or situational attraction is not an important or defining characteristic of bisexuality.

(3) The only thing lesbians do is “scissor.” Some lesbians practice vulval stimulation (also known as tribadism). However, not everyone does this. In addition, other sexual behaviors such as oral sex and mutual masturbation are more common among lesbians and bisexual women.

(4) In a same-sex couple, one of the partners is necessarily the “husband” and the other is the “wife.” Although the image of the same-sex couple is accepted as such in popular media, the reality is that same-sex couples are less likely to accept more restrictive roles than their heterosexual counterparts.
