From Russia (with Love?)
- Betrayal (Russia, 2015).
“Betrayal” is a Russian series that is closest to “Spirit”s Sweet Life.” In it, viewers see a 30-year-old woman who has succeeded in her career and personal life, when having a husband and three lovers was considered a romantic success. This is a bold series that breaks the stereotypical “husband-lover” triangle and brings women to the forefront. Perhaps this is why the series has sparked a wave of criticism, especially from men.
- Caster (Russia, 2019).
The series takes place in Moscow. Moscow is famous for its non-segregation of newcomers, especially young women striving for success. The main character, Dasha, played by the renowned Daria Moros, is also in search of a better life. Of course, instead of glamour and the glitter of the capital, she faces truly difficult obstacles that she must overcome on the path to happiness.
- Ex (Russia, 2016).
This dramatic series, starring Lyubov Aksenova, tells the story of a young woman who marries a man. An eccentric and unloved man, he goes through thick and thin, becomes a patient in a rehabilitation clinic, and meets his unexpected love. This is a series of addictions: to money, power, drugs, alcohol, and, of course, to other people.

The plot of the series centers on three heroines. Sasha Gvozdikova, the author of a story she hopes to write, and her two best friends, who moved from Yekaterinburg to Moscow to find themselves in the capital”s life. Sasha runs away from her boring job and her married lover to the big city, but finding true love on a white stone turns out to be much more difficult than she expected.

Moscow is at the center of the events, and, like other shows here, the next episode of the collection is full of obscene stories about relationships between people and attempts to lift the veil on the personal lives of the characters. Indeed, the series is a comedy of nature, and all its events seem much funnier than in immersion dramas.

An excellent mini-series from the UK with a strong cast that interweaves five seemingly different stories about relationships and what true love is and what is just the result of momentary passion.
