Adult coloring books have reached the peak of their popularity. It”s now almost normal to walk into a cafe and see grown women with crayons. Studies have shown that they help reduce anxiety and stress. But think about it. Is there really only one coloring book specifically for adults? That”s exactly what Sarah McDonnell had in mind when she began analyzing similar products in local bookstores.

“these are wonderful books with beautiful animal drawings,” says the 26-year-old consultant from London to SELF. “And I can really understand why adults might be drawn to them. But if it were me, I”d really want something more mature.”
Her solution is a truly “grown-up” coloring book, filled with images of couples having sex. It all started when the author began drawing men and women in various positions, recalling examples from her own experience, her friends” sex lives, and even the Kama Sutra positions.

In January, she published “Fill Me In” online. She then began selling the paperback version for £15. Hundreds of copies have been sold to date. And the author hopes This funny book will help people talk more openly about sex.

McDonnell is currently working on a gender-neutral version of the song “Fill Me In,” which will be performed at London Pride on June 25th. She”s also created a tabletop version of the original illustration in a calendar style, in case you need a little break from work.
