There are already dozens of definitions in the world that apply to a person’s sexual orientation. This article is dedicated to a relatively new and understudied LGBT movement: scoliosis.

Definition of the concept

The term “scoliosis” appeared not so long ago. It describes sexual attraction to people who are not cisgender. In other words, transgender, genderqueer, and non-binary individuals. At the same time, it cannot be completely ruled out that people suffering from scoliosis are pansexual or asexual.

In his research, American psychotherapist Michael Guichette argues that the concept of “scoliosis” can also be used to refer to sexual attraction to someone on the gender spectrum.

Literally translated, “skolio” means “curve”. Guichet suggested that all people with scoliosis are “broken” to some extent. However, there are also alternative versions. Some argue that scoliosis serves as a label that people use to insult and express contempt for transgender people.

What type of scoliosexuality

At first glance, it may seem that only men suffer from scoliosis. However, this is not entirely true. Sexologists admit that among those suffering from scoliosis there are much more men than the fairer sex.

Sexual orientation [it”s complicated!]

Causes of scoliosexuality

Individual cases of physical attraction to non-cisgender people are individual and should be considered on a case-by-case basis. However, sexologists have identified some of the main reasons why people are attracted to taboo relationships with transgender people.

  • The desire to curb any tendency towards unconventional orientation. After all, as you know, our society does not welcome same-sex relationships, but does not deny their existence.
  • An insatiable thirst for new experiments in bed. When a person literally tries every sexual pleasure and craves new sensations.
  • ( A subconscious desire to dominate (even in bed) and prove one”s dominance. This doesn”t mean that a scoliosis-sexual person refuses their partner or humiliates them in any way. However, their inner self rejoices in the recognition of their small victory over members of their own sex (even if in the past).

Feelings or a tribute to fashion

Scoliosis patients themselves cannot answer this question. Some have good feelings for their “unusual” partners. But in most cases, they are embarrassed to admit this to themselves, let alone to strangers. On the contrary, some use another attractive transgender person for their own purposes. And note that in most cases, this is a mutually equivalent deception. One spares no expense, literally buying themselves “exotic pleasures,” while the other spares no time, no effort, no emotion to satisfy the whims of a generous friend.
