But the human stick is not so easily broken, and enslaved Africans were able to preserve their traditions. In the evenings, if they could afford to rest, people twerked. This is how the civilized world learned about him.
The confusion that the spoils of war caused among Puritan Europeans led to the attribution of sexual obsession to him, given that such movements explicitly called for sex. The Europeans did not see in it elegance, a clear picture and a set number. For them it was random spasms of parts of the body, hips and legs. But this African dance is very beautiful. This is his improvisation, sensuality and unpredictability.

All their movements are directed downwards, they seem to be carved into the ground and are in close contact with the surface. It”s clear. Their main instrument is the drum. And it’s hard to get lost in their struggle. The drums set the tempo for the entire body.
Interestingly, each instrument can be accompanied by some of them. Each part of the body moves individually. Under one arm, under the other there is a foot drum. Afrikaner researchers noticed this feature. Remarkably, dancers can instantly adapt to the instrument”s recordings and add movement. As a result, the visualization of the dance became clearer and clearer and no longer resembled the Dance of St. Vitus. Researchers of African cultures realized that, despite the obvious similarities, each tribe had its own dance styles.
At the end of the 60s, when Africans became full citizens of European countries and the United States, TVSkok came out of hiding. Of course, this prey dance was already very different from the original, but the ancestors could rightfully be proud of this descendant. Later, the trucks became known as “springers” and began their conquest of the world from New Orleans and Miami. Such arguments are primarily made by dance critics who have given their names to classical dance forms and are already at an age when they are tired of morality and chastity. No matter how they sinned in their youth, they are still the same people. Now, it”s important that they don”t let themselves be intimidated by other fingers.
However, they are constantly being replaced by young, uninhibited professionals who are not only familiar with standard dance moves but also welcome everything new and unexpected. Thus, one can see positive aspects in twerk: physical training that shapes and strengthens the body and is simultaneously elegant and surprisingly similar to sport. Finally, in the past, pole dancing was more like striptease, vulgar and intense. Now there are numerous dance schools equipped with poles and the teachings of parents, which they happily pass on to their daughters.
Competitions, tournaments and championships are organized. Small children perform on poles, and strippers nervously smoke on the sidelines. And it never occurs to anyone that the child’s future is predetermined. Same thing in Twerk. Sexual overtones were given only to media resources. It was given the status of erotic dance and placed on the same shelf in the same direction as Gogo. This may be the case for now, but the result will definitely be different.
