Why so many women don”t experience orgasm: facts and figures

The female orgasm is the subject of close attention of many psychologists and sexologists. Researchers have found that there are four main factors that influence the likelihood of reaching the highest points of pleasure in honest sex. These:
Contents of the article:
- Social characteristics. The older a woman is, the higher her level of education, the greater her chances of achieving orgasm.
- Beliefs. There are women who adhere to a religious view of life and believe that the main thing in the life of any woman is the famous “Kinder, Küche, Kirche” — children, cooking and church. They are much less likely to achieve orgasm.
- Relationship. The closer a woman is to a relationship with a man, the more trusting their relationship is, the greater the likelihood of achieving orgasm.
- Sexual trauma. If a girl has not been subjected to any kind of sexual violence in the past, including incest, she is also more likely to enjoy it.
The researchers also focused on what happens in bed for women, who nevertheless orgasm much less frequently than men. It has been found that this is directly influenced by factors such as the duration and quality of foreplay.
This was confirmed by one of the studies conducted in Australia. Scientists have found that the ability to experience orgasm depends much less on these four factors than on the characteristics of erotic stimulation during (and especially before) sexual intercourse.
Australian poll results
One Australian study included 5, 118 men and women aged 16-59 years. Subjects were asked about the four factors already mentioned. They were also asked to describe what happened during their last sexual encounter and whether they achieved orgasm. It turned out that about 95% of men achieved the highest score, while among women this figure was only 69%.
Social characteristics, psychological beliefs, sexual trauma, and relationship characteristics certainly played a role. However, the influence of these factors was not as great as scientists previously believed. About 70 percent of women who were satisfied with their partners reported achieving orgasm. In comparison, with casual partners, this figure was only 49%.

Researchers concluded that all these factors may be associated with the frequency of orgasm. However, their effects can be completely mitigated by skillful sexual stimulation.
Happiness in a couple is the key to satisfaction
Interestingly, scientists have discovered a correlation between indicators of couple sexual activity and satisfaction in such relationships. It turns out that partners have sex more often if the other”s needs for planning are met. An example is the psychological need for love and acceptance. In couples where one or both partners were not particularly happy together, the situation was different. Typically, one partner expressed dissatisfaction with their intimate life.

- What causes these differences? Scientists believe that it”s all about physiology. In men, numerous nerve endings responsible for pleasure and orgasm are located on the head of the penis. During classic intercourse, these nerves are stimulated sufficiently to achieve orgasm virtually unimpeded.
In women, the nerves responsible for maximum pleasure are located in the clitoris, and not in the vagina. Therefore, the more lovemaking hits this area during intercourse, the more likely the girl is to achieve orgasm.
