Is there a difference in sensation between circumcised and uncircumcised men?

Difference, Feelings, Circumcised, Uncircumcised

When it comes to circumcision, there are two opposing schools of thought. Opponents of the procedure argue that removing the foreskin leads to thickening of the penile skin, which reduces sexual sensitivity. Proponents of circumcision are convinced that the procedure does not affect male sexuality, citing a wealth of medical evidence to support their position.

Recently, a joint research team from the University of Washington and Australia analyzed the global medical literature and found 36 methodological studies examining the effects of circumcision on male sexuality.

Among the scientific reports, two of the best stood out, reflecting the most comprehensive observations made by researchers from East Africa. They were based on clinical trials, each lasting two years. The thoroughness with which they were conducted is impressive, and the results cannot be questioned.

Kenyan Experiment

The Kenyan Medical Research Group studied the sexual functioning of 2, 784 adult men and the degree of satisfaction and pleasure they experienced during intercourse. All participants were sexually active and not menstruating. After the first survey, half of the men (1, 391) voluntarily underwent surgical removal of their foreskin.

Then, formal, direct surveys were conducted with all participants every six months for two years. The results of each survey phase revealed no statistically significant differences between the incision-free and bloodless groups in terms of erectile function, pleasure, and satisfaction.

Additionally, the researchers asked the foreskin-removed participants follow-up questions about the differences they noticed before and after the procedure. By the end of the two-year experiment, 99. 9% of the shaved men admitted that their genital sensitivity had not decreased and that they “felt satisfied with their condition after the procedure,” while 72% believed their sensitivity had increased. Furthermore, 78% said that putting on a condom became significantly easier after circumcision.

Second Experiment

Anesthetic condoms are chosen by men who want to add sexual intercourse and eliminate premature ejaculation. This device truly addresses these concerns.

Researchers in Uganda conducted a test similar to the one conducted in Kenya. The same sample included 4, 456 uncircumcised men, of whom 2, 210 agreed to have their foreskin removed. After two years of observation and study, the “satisfactory sex life” rate in the uncircumcised group was 99. 9%, while among circumcised participants, this figure was 98. 4%.

The two African studies observed 7, 240 men. This is a large sample by the standards of any study. Statistically, given the length of observation and the large number of participants, a significant decline in sexual responsiveness should have occurred.

Other Studies

Thirty-four other scientific studies have found similar results, confirming that circumcision does not affect sexual function, sensation, erectile function, difficulty, or the frequency of premature ejaculation. Based on the material studied, a joint team of researchers from Australia and the University of Washington concluded that “circumcision, particularly in infancy, does not affect male sexual function, sensitivity, sensation, pleasure, or satisfaction.” They concluded that:

Medical Benefits

In men, circumcision reduces the risk of HIV, STIs, including penile cancer, and also eliminates inflammation of the glans (balanitis) and mycosis (narrowing of the foreskin, which makes exposing the glans penis painful and difficult).

As for women, they prefer a partner with a shaved penis. This has been shown by all the studies conducted. This choice is explained by the fact that sex with a shaved man carries a lower risk of infection with chlamydia, trichomonas, herpes, human papillomavirus, and, consequently, cervical cancer.

Under the foreskin, in a favorable environment, pathogenic viruses and bacteria can accumulate and multiply rapidly. No, even the most meticulous hygiene cannot completely eliminate these microorganisms. Moreover, most men often ignore “meticulous hygiene.” Modern women are well aware of these signs and understand that unprotected sex with men who don”t circulate poses a threat to their health.

Finally

Incidentally, a third of the world”s male population has had their foreskin removed. Islam and Judaism require this procedure in accordance with their religious laws. In addition to Muslim countries and Israel, circumcision is also practiced in the United States and many Asian countries, but to a lesser extent in Europe, Latin America, and non-Muslim Africa.

Representatives of the Muslim and Jewish faiths claim that the medical benefits of circumcision are incidental and that the ritual has only religious significance. However, the fact that this practice protects the health of adherents of these faiths can only be welcomed.
