Who is a homosexual? Why does same-sex love arise?

Despite the fact that Mother Nature has provided for the emergence of pure and great love between partners of different sexes, cases of homosexuality are not uncommon. Where do “gay people” come from and how do they perceive this phenomenon — as a regularity of modern society or as a biological “failure” of the human body.

Explaining the penchant for same-sex sex
Proponents of homosexuality explain that homosexuality is a manifestation of a genetic predisposition. In their opinion, changing such preferences is completely unrealistic. Their opponents, who adhere to the theory of dominance, view the emergence of sexual attraction to members of the same sex as a false family atmosphere (they talk about the childhood of gays or lesbians). Let us take a closer look at the theory of the dominance factor itself.
Dominant personality theory
None of the modern psychologists need to explain that every small child tries to imitate his parents. Moreover, he imitates those who are recognized as the leaders of the family, regardless of gender.
This feature of the human subconscious has roots in the distant past. Before this evolutionary law, there was a desire for young children to grow up and surpass their parents, especially the dominant parent. In most cases, it is this desire that is the cause of the problem, which is commonly called “conflict between father and son.”
What modern medicine says
The definition of body physiology and sexual orientation has been an active topic of much scientific debate for over a century. Despite the significant achievements of modern medicine, there is still no clear answer to the question of what exactly determines sexual orientation. Doctors provide only a list of general factors that, in their opinion, influence gender preferences. We are talking about behavior:
Although this may seem surprising, even the environmental situation can influence the fact that traditional love is replaced by unconventional love. As for the influence of the social environment, here doctors are almost on the verge of reason. Rather, they are influenced by early intrauterine development (prenatal hormonal exposure) and pathological disorders of brain structures.
Historical explanations
Even before the first half of the 20th century, doctors defined deviation from traditional sexual orientation as a state of mental illness whose causes defy explanation. The father of this interpretation was the ancient philosopher Aristotle. It was he who began to talk about male homosexuality as a disease caused by the pathological influence of the environment.
Therefore, obvious deviations from traditional heterosexual orientation were treated exclusively by psychiatrists (at best, psychologists). Only at the beginning of the 20th century did endocrinology begin to actively develop, and a little later neuroendocrinology changed existing opinions in medicine and gave rise to theories about the influence of raging “wrong” hormones that determine sexual behavior on human physiology. Individual behavior.

The concept of gender stereotypes may be a thing of the distant past, but they are so ingrained in society that it seems almost impractical to get rid of them. Some of them view homosexuality as a disease, others as a violation of the spirit. There is a third disturbing opinion, whose supporters call same-sex love a fictional farce.
When did same-sex love appear?
There is an opinion among many people that it is in vain that couples of the first sex began to meet only in our time and rightfully consider their heyday to be free love, tolerance and self-expression.
In fact, this point of view is not at all correct. Historical facts clearly demonstrate the presence of homosexuals in ancient cultures in different countries and on different continents.
As evidence, history provides many examples of homosexual relationships. For example, members of the Australian Aboriginal Aranda people practice highly inspired homosexual play in which both adults and children participate.

Considering ancient Greek society, it is worth noting that homosexuality was considered an absolute norm there. Plato also wrote about this, considering the same thing to be noble and strong emotional love.
The “Sacred Rites” of the city of Thebes were considered the most reliable military unit, despite the fact that most of them consisted of homosexual partners. At the same time, according to Xenophon, in the strongest phalanx, warriors should be deeply in love with each other.

Elton John, Boris Mozieff, Nero and George Gordon Byron are people who can be easily identified by their words. It”s no secret what falls into this category.
Solomon believed that homosexuality is directly related to the aesthetic intelligence of real men. Its main requirement is the person’s voluntary consent to sexual contact.
Male love was also not condemned by the inhabitants of Ancient Rome, but under one condition — anal contact between partners was not allowed.

Medieval Europe was marked by a sharp and fundamental change in public opinion. Back in the 12th century, Thomas Aquinas, who taught at one of the universities in Paris, expressed his opinion that same-sex relationships are a much greater evil than family relationships (incest).
Most theologians were concerned about the fact that love between members of the same sex does not serve the purpose of procreation and exists only for pleasure. In France at the time, gays and lesbians were simply burned out by the crisis, but pro-relations suffered as the property of those executed was confiscated for the benefit of the state treasury.
In Italy, special scammers were hired to track down people of non-traditional sexual orientation. The punishment for them was also the death penalty. In some cases, authorities were able to completely burn down entire houses where the practice of unconventional sex was observed.
In 1828, the British Parliament passed a document called “Criminal Acts against Private Individuals.” It contained an article “regarding Sodomy.” In this case, the death penalty meant “same-sex love.” After 30 years, the trial was canceled, replacing the execution with life imprisonment.
However, given the general attitude towards homosexuals, we have to refer to the opinion of a famous scientific figure, scientist from the Russian Academy of Education Igor Kon. He described sexuality as a combination of erotic thoughts, fantasies, and behaviors determined by biological, cultural, ethical, social, and other factors. In other words, gender should not be recognized as a means of procreation, but rather as a manifestation of hierarchy and a means of resolving conflict.

Until 1960, mental and sexual deviations were considered homosexuality. Subsequently, the sexual revolution significantly changed the social status quo, and gay people began to be accepted as a completely normal phenomenon.
1973 was characterized by the removal of homosexuality from the list of mental disorders. It began to be recognized as an option for human life. In 1991 this was considered a complete aberration.
How did gays live in different eras?
Is there female homosexuality?
Most likely, most would pay attention to the fact that in stories reminiscent of gay people, in most cases they only talk about love for the same sex among men. However, it is a well-known fact that the same love for women has always existed. How can one explain such nonsense to representatives of the lesbian “tribe”?
First of all, this attitude is largely promoted by the views of outstanding figures in psychology. Freud, for example, believed that bisexuality was a normal condition for all women. He explains this simply and argues that the main source of pleasure for every girl is her mother. She is the one who bathes, cherishes and loves her children first. Moreover, their attraction to the fairer sex with their “compatriots” is explained by several factors.
- Psychological trauma of childhood or adolescence;
- Women”s fear of penetration;
- Identification of one’s personality with a man;
- Perception of women as a source of pleasure;
- The predominance of male sex hormones in the female body.
The latter is most often found in professional athletes, whose hormonal imbalance is directly related to hormonal drug therapy.
The opinion of modern medicine
Despite the progressive breakthroughs of doctors who have come to certain conclusions about the causes of same-sex love, it still does not exist. Opinions were divided into two camps.
- Biological conditioning;
- Social factors and personal subconscious.
Many doctors, led by Mieczyslaw Radoro, associate hormonal disturbances during a mother”s pregnancy with relationships between gays and lesbians. In this case, along with pathological abnormalities, the brain center develops (the disorder is directly related to the area of the brain responsible for determining gender). This causes problems for adults in correctly identifying their gender.
For example, some sexologists, Marek Sawko, talk about acquired homosexuality. This is a direct continuation of the seduction of an adult partner with a male or female boy or girl during puberty or even before it.

Returning to the topic of physiological causes of symptoms of same-sex intercourse, it should be remembered that unconventional changes in direction often occur in patients with a history of brain tumors (hypothalamic area and prefrontal cortex). In addition, in people with unconventional orientation, the number of forebrain adhesions increased.
To the above, we can add that in families where homosexuals raised many older children. This syndrome is known in psychology as “little brother syndrome.” The explanation, oddly enough, is again related to the physiological characteristics of the female body during pregnancy.
When a male child is born, the body of a young mother produces less and less proteins associated with the formation of sexual orientation with each subsequent pregnancy. At the same time, the number of antibodies against them increases and certain brain structures involved in the direction of sexual orientation change.
Summing up
Despite the fact that representatives of modern society practically do not condemn homosexuals and lesbians, many homosexuals are still perplexed about their sexual preferences. They are completely unprepared to not hide or reveal their “little sexual pranks.”

At the same time, prominent figures in the world of sexology and psychology are still haunted to this day because they still have not found the cause of homosexuality. Experts continue to actively seek answers to this unresolved question, trying to find the roots of a phenomenon that many of their contemporaries do not understand. The most popular “practical” version of scientific research, which is not surprising, is considered to be the search for genes involved in homosexuality.
