How did it happen that the world celebrates Condom and Birth Control Day?
In fact, this is not as interesting and frivolous as it might seem at first glance.
No, in a sense, yes, most of these “holidays” related to sex (like the female orgasm, anal sex or oral sex holidays) are comic. Often this is usually a drawn-out prank. Everyone liked the joke, including the radio host at the radio station who told the joke, and it suddenly went viral.
However, on World Contraception Day, everything is not so rosy. It began to be celebrated in 2007, and at one time it was presented by ten international family planning organizations: the Asia-Pacific Council (yes, everything is serious), the European Association of Contraception and the Foundation for Non-Productive Health, the German World Population Foundation, the International Federation of Pediatric Gynecology and Gynecology, the International Federation of Planned Parenthood and several more serious organizations.
Why did they do this? The point is that they were very concerned about how many people in the world are not particularly aware of contraceptive methods or simply do not have financial access to them. In other words, they know that condoms are available, but they cannot afford to buy them.
