Why do women need orgasms? Why did nature invent it?

Women don”t need orgasm in their reproductive system, but why does such a thing exist?
To understand this, start with a similar question: Why do men have orgasms? From a philosophical point of view, the answer is simple. The biological purpose of life is the reproduction of life, i. e. transmission of genes from generation to generation. And this is impossible without fertilization. However, fertilizing requires energy.

For this, men look for a partner, but if this does not help, masturbation can help. Such tension often requires restraining energy. However, males who consciously desire fertilization benefit from natural selection. Therefore, the male orgasm is a kind of compensation for the efforts spent on achieving it. And because the pleasure of orgasm is so powerful and palpable, men are willing to expend energy to enjoy it again.
Moreover, a significant amount of research (cited in Elizabeth Loyd”s book “Aspects of the Female Orgasm”) shows that only 25% of women are able to achieve orgasm during intercourse. However, women do not need to experience orgasm for the birth process to be successful. Why do they still have orgasms?
Because men can?
If a man has an orgasm, then a woman can have an orgasm. During most of the gestation period, the fetus is a creature of both sexes. Traits required by one sex often develop in the other sex, not because they are biologically necessary, but simply because evolutionary pressures do not apply to them.
For example, female nipples are a necessity. Otherwise she would not be able to feed her child. Men don”t have this need, but they do have nipples. Why? Because women have them. The same applies to orgasm.

Meanwhile, surprisingly, evolution is explained in terms of energy costs. For 1000 generations, there were certain traits that absorbed life energy, but eventually disappeared because they “responded” and did not reproduce anything. Even after millions of years of evolution, male nipples still remain in the body because they never absorb energy.
However, achieving orgasm requires energy, and there is evidence that female orgasm requires more energy than male orgasm. Pioneering research by W. Johnson and W. Masters back in the 1960s showed that the female orgasm is just as intense as the male orgasm and makes the body shake even longer.

There are several principles by which female sexuality works. If you really stick to them, the path to female orgasm.
In addition, many women, unlike men, can experience multiple orgasms in quick succession. In other words, women expend more energy on orgasm than men, giving them an evolutionary advantage. But what is it?
Higher chances of conceiving
There is growing evidence that orgasm increases the likelihood of passing on female genes to the next generation.
The frequency of female orgasm during intercourse varies from month to month, with the greatest likelihood of orgasm during ovulation.
Female orgasm during intercourse often causes premature ejaculation in men.
Orgasm causes the release of the hormone oxytocin, which stimulates rhythmic contractions of the female genital organs. This helps sperm penetrate into the vagina and then into the uterus. In this situation, sperm have a better chance of reaching the egg.

These uterine contractions impede the flow of seminal fluid, thereby preventing the loss of sperm in the uterine area.
During orgasm, a woman releases the hormone prolactin, which helps sperm penetrate the body faster and deeper.
It can be seen that orgasm does give women a certain evolutionary advantage (in aspects of reproductive function).
Why do women fake orgasms?
Teamwork
Men often impregnate many women, passing on some of their genes to them in the process of promiscuity. Women probably achieve the same result by raising a relatively small number of children until puberty. However, it is difficult to raise a child alone. It takes a man for this. But what is a man? There is evidence that orgasm plays an important role in mate choice.
Orgasm, in both men and women, is caused by the hormone oxytocin and promotes bonding between them.
Raising children is a team effort. With whom would a woman prefer such a long and complex relationship? Perhaps with a man with whom she has an orgasm.
A woman who has had an orgasm wants further sex with the one who received it. This makes a man want to be with this woman.
Eternal mystery
On the other hand, if orgasms help women conceive and keep men interested, why do only 25% of them achieve it? It remains a mystery.
However, unlike male nipples, female orgasms serve a specific evolutionary purpose (i. e., increasing the likelihood of conception). In other words, orgasm helps women in childbearing and education to a certain extent.
P. S. PS
Married couples can use the coil alignment technique to increase the likelihood of female orgasm during intercourse. See our previous post on this topic.

Orgasm is a natural process for women. Some, especially sexually inexperienced girls, need to figure out how to achieve this. And there is nothing shameful in realizing this. Moreover, fortunately, it is not that difficult. To get started, try reading The Mean Orgasm by Julia Gaiman and Joseph LoPiccolo (available on Amazon). If this fails, sex therapists have ways to help you.
