French researchers conducted an experiment. They sent young girls in their 20s to different beaches. All members of the group were equally fresh and beautiful. They were wearing matching two-piece swimsuits. The organizers gave instructions: go to the beach, lay down beach towels, read a book and turn away from any stranger who dares talk to them.
For one hour, these beachgoers had the opportunity to see a girl without a tattoo. But then the participants got temporary tattoos of butterflies on the surface of their bodies. Scientists standing in the distance saw what was happening.
In the first part of the experiment, 11 men tried to approach a woman without a tattoo for one hour. When women used body art, this figure increased to 26 men.
The experimenters went further and asked some of these men what they thought about girls. It turned out that representatives of the stronger sex are 20% more likely to believe that they can ask a woman with a tattoo on a date than a woman without a tattoo. Men are 28% more likely to believe that a tattooed woman will have sex on the first date.
Do tattoos make us sexier?
This question also worried Polish researchers. A recent survey of Polish scientists involved 88 young people (men and women). Of these, 60 were not fans of body art, and 28 had tattoos. The study found that people with tattoos were more sexually active than others. However, the researchers believe that this feature is random and speaks only about this sample of subjects, and not about all tattoos.
