Hurry is needed when catching fleas, but there is no need to rush with a condom!
Commentary is one of the best tools available to reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and prevent unwanted pregnancies. Unfortunately, people make a lot of mistakes when it comes to wearing and using condoms.
Researchers and volunteers in the United States have identified three main mistakes when using condoms:
- Using sharp objects to open condom packaging, as well as
- Inability to check expiration date, and
- Removing or slipping off the condom before the end of sex.
Why are these and other mistakes so common? Largely due to insufficient sex education. However, a study published in the journal Sexually Transmitted Infections suggests another key point. Hasty use of condoms.

Condoms are a reliable assistant during the most prepared or, conversely, extreme dates. However, sometimes this “rubber friend” fails.
Researchers surveyed patients at five STI clinics in the United States. A total of 512 participants (mean age 29 years) were interviewed, the majority of whom were women (59%).
There was emergency use of condoms.
1) almost twice as likely to be torn, that is, almost twice as likely to be torn
2) they are almost twice as likely to slip during sex, and

4) about three times more often the condom turned out to be of poor quality or damaged.
These results were observed regardless of whether they were reported by men or women. In light of this, a reasonable conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that it is possible to reduce the risk of error when using condoms.
