Proof of this is the following American online survey, in which 102, 961 heterosexual men and 82, 819 heterosexual women took part. Participants came from 53 countries, most of them from the UK and USA.
In this study, participants were given a list of 23 different characteristics and asked to choose the three most important traits in a potential romantic partner. As a result, 10 characteristics were identified that turned out to be the most important for representatives of the opposite sex.
