The main sexual problems in long-term relationships

The Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo, Canada, conducted a test to identify sexual problems inherent in people in long-term romantic relationships. 117 couples, divided into two same-sex groups, were invited for in-depth analysis. Each test participant received a questionnaire consisting of 25 questions about sexual problems.
First of all, the experts wanted to identify differences in answers, taking into account the gender of the participants, and to determine which of the topics presented in the questionnaire they perceived as particularly sensitive. Based on the data obtained, it is possible to compile a selection of basic questions of a sexual nature and interpret them as percentages.
Of all the points presented in the questionnaire, three stand out:
- Frequency of sexual contacts.
- Sexual satisfaction.
- Interest in your partner.

Statistics show that many marriages fail due to sexual problems faced by the spouses. Various studies have been carried out.
Thus, 36% of women and 39% of men indicated that the main problem is the general frequency of sexual contacts (this includes the absence/excess of sexual contacts). 33% of women and 32% of men are not satisfied with the duration and quality of sex. Only 25% of both sexes have difficulty being attracted to their partner. Unfortunately, the test organizers did not report the average length of the relationship of the couples invited for analysis.

As a result, experts suggest that the main problem is not the frequency of sexual intercourse, but the weakening of desire for a partner. This almost always leads to the breakdown of long-term relationships, and betrayals begin. The data presented cannot be considered residual due to the lack of information about the factors that create photographic integrity (individual happiness of the couple, presence of children, marriage).
