Experts from a Canadian institute decided to conduct an experiment to find out whether communication with previous lovers prevents people from surviving a breakup. 113 volunteers who had recently experienced a breakup were asked to keep a diary for two months. Half of them wanted to renew their relationship with their ex-lover and took certain steps to do this, while the other participants did not feel such a desire.
