  • 2. 4% of participants said they were open to achieving their goal. Both partners accept these terms and jointly set the rules for what is acceptable. At the same time, partners are open and honest about sexual or romantic activities with their partner. Polyamory and swinging are two types of open relationships.”
  • Of participants in romantic relationships, 4% described their relationships as open. And this figure is in line with other scientific studies that have shown that 5% of people in relationships are not consensually monogamous.

today, more and more couples are in so-called open relationships. These are people who allow their partners and themselves to enter into.

  • Men were more likely to create open relationships than men (25% vs. 15%, respectively). because men are not interested in consensual monogamy.
  • Young people are more experienced in open relationships than older respondents.
  • 12% of participants admitted that an open relationship is their dream. They want more freedom, choice and variety.
  • Representatives of monogamous and open relationships do not differ in their level of relationship satisfaction. This means that people tend to be less happy in couples when there is a discrepancy between the actual relationship and the ideal type of relationship.

These findings are important because they further strengthen the idea that people have different preferences for relationships. And this makes them happier.
