10 questions from the most iconic series about sex
- The cities promised great opportunities. But maybe it”s time to stick with what we have?
Season 1 episode 9
Carrie asked this question in the context of a relationship. “We think this is better, we think this is better, we think this is better, we think this is better. But even outside of this context, the question remains relevant, whether it concerns a career or other life choices.
What is better: chasing a pie in the sky or limiting yourself to the blue color in your hand?
- “Do single people really need to resort to modern fairy tales to justify their fate and unhappy relationships?” Do we really need to believe in anything?”
Season 2 episode 8
In the eighth episode of the second season, Carrie reflects on whether her relationship with the “man of her dreams” is ideal and whether it is a figment of her imagination. What they are not.
And if we take a closer look at the show”s four heroines, our answer to Carey”s question is likely to be positive.

Indeed, in order to find at least some justification for what is happening in our personal lives, we are often ready to believe in anything. By refusing to accept the sad truth, we create an illusory world into which we dive headlong into to feel happier than we really are.
- “In a world where people are increasingly divided, what are the rules of the game after a breakup?”
Season 2 episode 1
Anyone who has experienced a breakup has probably asked a similar question more than once. Carey sets it up early in season two when he”s going through a breakup. If someone changes status from a long-term partner to an ex-partner, there is a lot of uncertainty depending on how you behave with this person, what happens to your future relationship and what rules it develops.
In fact, we believe that there is simply no universal answer to this question, since all relationships, especially breakups, are very different, as are the people involved in those relationships.
- “Is it possible to be friends with your ex?”
Season 2 episode 18
This question directly continues Keri”s argument about the rules of the game after the breakup. And if such rules exist, then what should be the outcome of this game? Is it possible to maintain friendship after an abusive relationship?

Sex and the City is hugely popular, mostly because the characters are about four very different women who embrace everything.

Again, there is no definitive answer to this question, but it is definitely relevant. Some people choose to remain friends with their ex-partners, but this is not always the case, and this can lead to disastrous consequences. Others don”t consider friendship an option after a relationship. Either way, what works for some people doesn”t work for others. Unfortunately, there is no single magic formula.
- “Do we really need this, or are we programmed for such life goals?”
Season 4 episode 15
This is probably one of the most wonderful questions asked of Carrie Bradshaw. And this is very true for most of us.
Carrie states that. Despite the obvious achievements of our society, stereotypes still exist. We are forced to focus on the idea of marriage, children and our homes.” Most people do want marriage and children, but it makes sense to ask if we really want this for ourselves or if society has programmed us to do this.
Perhaps if more people asked themselves questions like these before making important decisions, the world as we know it would change significantly.
- “What”s better in a love relationship: following your heart or your mind?”
Season 3 episode 9
In Sex and the Cities (and not only here, we admit), the struggle between emotions and logic occurs constantly in the relationships of the characters.

10 Carrie Bradshaw things that are back in fashion
- “Is Timing Everything?”
Season 3 episode 8
In Season 3, Carrie draws philosophical conclusions, pondering the extent to which our destinies are predetermined and subject to time, or whether everything that happens is simply a chain of random events.
Twisting between Aidan, who was perhaps the most wonderful man in her life, and “the man of her dreams,” she remarked that she was “lucky,” but she probably would have encountered such an idea sooner.
- “Should a person sacrifice their own interests for their partner?”
Season 4 episode 14
Carrie asks this crucial question in Season 4. Often, people enter into relationships and abandon their previous habits and lifestyle, which ultimately leads to them losing themselves.
Of course, when creating a relationship, we have to sacrifice some things, including freedom and tolerance, but many people make typical mistakes, abandoning part of their character, giving themselves over to the relationship, and forgetting themselves.
Season 4 episode 1
The question of whether the soul actually exists has tormented countless hopeless romantics over the years, including Carrie Bradshaw. The latter concept makes us wonder whether the same person exists in the world.
And while the idea of soulmates seems quite romantic, they would be much better for all of us if they really exist. In any case, people will have a much better chance of developing long-lasting and harmonious relationships.
- “Why are we always worried about something?”
Season 6 episode 2
This question reveals one simple yet undeniable truth. Nothing is perfect. When it comes to relationships, this includes.
And as relevant as this question may be, it”s worth asking another one. How do you know which flaws in a person are worth supporting and which ones aren”t?
An excellent aperitif to accompany the dishes offered by the incomparable Carrie Bradshaw!
