For a long time, biologists were convinced that the female psyche would stop choosing partners with whom it would be able to reproduce the healthiest offspring in the future. However, recent research by scientists shows that masculinity is far from equivalent to attractiveness.

For example, in one experiment, scientists decided to test whether weight could act as a factor in physical attractiveness. Indeed, it turned out that in the process of assessing representatives of the stronger sex, women mainly used indicators such as the presence or absence of body fat.

the desires and preferences of women are one of the great mysteries. Some are delighted with the cubic romance, rose petals and teddy bears on the door, while others…

To confirm their theory, scientists took 69 farmers from different European countries. The researchers measured body fat and testosterone. It was found that 65% of the volunteers had an acceptable body weight. 4% – insufficient and 30. 4% – excessive. Scientists also studied the characteristics of the immune system and the antibody response to the hepatitis V virus.

After recording all the data on the 29 female peaks, photographs were displayed. They looked at the men’s faces and rated their attractiveness. Respondents also had to give their opinion on whether the men in the photographs were obese.

As a result, researchers found that obese men actually have weaker immune systems. At the same time, they were not attractive to women. However, when it came to their bolder features, they were not associated with either immunity levels or physical attractiveness to women.

We’ve found that a person’s weight is one of the best indicators of how well their immune system is functioning. Therefore, it can be assumed that in their assessments, Latvian respondents subconsciously relied on the man’s weight, and not on certain appearance features that are traditionally considered masculine. Thus, their subconscious determines whether a potential partner’s immunity is strong enough,” commented Coetzi Vinks, one of its authors, on the results of the study.
